Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue is an all volunteer emergency response team dedicated to saving lives through search and rescue operations by providing professionally trained members for water rescue and recovery incidents. Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue also promotes water safety awareness education.

NUSAR is currently accepting applications for new members.

General meetings are the second Monday of every month.

Drills are the third Sunday of every month (with alternate drills on Thursday nights during the summer)

Is is strongly encouraged that new members be certified open water divers (or higher), but non-divers are welcome on the team.

Individuals must be relatively fit; capable of lifting 100 lbs.
